Job Description

The Mechanical Design Co-Op will work directly with Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Process, and Test Engineers to facilitate various activities to improve the manufacturability, repeatability, and process controls related to XP Power’s RF products. The core responsibility of the Mechanical Design Co-Op is to support the larger team in expanding our current production capacity and capabilities to meet the needs of our customers by delivering professional drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing considerations.

As a co-op, you will be work to:

• Fabricate and/or modify existing prototype components and fixtures for production and NPI
• Design and maintain both mCAD and eCAD files within tools such as SOLIDWORKS, Altium, OrCAD, etc. to digitize our products and assemblies as 3D models
• Validate Bill of Materials contents to ensure accurate structure and material utilization

Qualifications

• Proficient with various CAD software packages (SOLIDWORKS preferred, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Altium, etc.)
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to meet strict customer-based deadlines
• Experience with power electronics or other complex electromechanical assemblies
• Passion for further developing engineering knowledge and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills with ability to understand and explain complex topics
• Proficient in using common desktop applications such as Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute requirements delivered in various formats.
