MECHANIC OPERATIONS MANAGER

FULL TIME

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced MECHANICAL OPERATIONS Manager to lead and oversee our company's SERVICE operations. The MECHANICAL OPERATIONS Manager will be responsible for managing the service related to vehicles that require roadside assistance, ensuring their proper SAFETY assistance, emergency management, and implementing effective strategies to solve breakdowns of trucks and vehicles owned by our members. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of fleet vehicles and truck management best practices. Semitrailers, trailers, diesel and gas mechanic experience required.

Annual Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 PLUS BONUS

 

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive emergency system to assist truckers, drivers, vehicles, passengers, and cargo. Assist companies in handling and reducing breakdowns of their fleets or vehicles, implementing protocols, and following management policies and procedures.

- Monitor and maintain accurate records of all roadside and maintenance services and related activities, including vehicle maintenance, repairs, and certify any activity.

- Coordinate roadside assistance and ensure compliance with safety regulations

- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in service performance and cost reduction

- Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate an efficient use of resources

- Oversee roadside operations support training programs to promote safe and efficient practices

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in roadside assistance technology.

- Implement and participate in Fleet Maintenance Programs to reduce breakdowns.

Skills:

- Proof of experience as a fleet, operations, mechanical Manager, or a similar role.

- Strong knowledge of fleet, regulations, and best practices

- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions

- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to effectively recruit, train, and manage a team

- Proficient in using fleet management software and other relevant tools

- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This is an appointed position responsible for the RECEPTION, development, implementation, and CONTROL of an emergency management system for, vehicles, and property of our TRIPLE C.... COMMERCIAL CAR CLUB members.

The position is designed to reduce DOWNTIME of the commercial vehicles affiliated. The MECHANICAL OPERATIONS Manager shall coordinate activities relating to the prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery of an unpredicted event.

The MECHANICAL OPERATIONS manager position shall include all responsibilities outlined in the regular answer protocol. The Manager is charged with making certain that the first response and other supporting agencies of the emergency management program understand the risks of mechanical failures in the handle of commercial vehicles around the USA. The MECHANICAL OPERATIONS should be able to function effectively in an emergency and conduct necessary recovery operations following the event.

The position requires direct responsibility for the organization, administration, and operation, subject to direction and control. The position serves as the principal advisor to the supervisors in emergency matters. The MECHANICAL OPERATIONS Manager, in discharging duties, must work with different people in the roadside assistance business.

The MECHANICAL OPERATIONS Manager is given broad authority to determine the priorities, requirements, and procedures to implement and support drivers, passengers, property, and vehicles as a first objective. Completed work is reviewed in terms of net results and the achievement of broad objectives and conformance with general policies. Job effectiveness can be determined by the ability of the MECHANICAL OPERATIONS Manager to take the lead in mitigation, prevention, response and recovery planning, training, and coordination in the support of an incident or emergency making maximum use of all resources available.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

This position may not be assigned all duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all the duties that may be assigned. Systematically identify and analyze the natural and technological and man‐made risks and hazards that pose potential threats or risks and significant consequences to our members, roadside assistance personnel, and vehicles.

Develop and maintain the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), outlining the roles and responsibilities of Commercial Car Club and supporting groups under various emergency contingencies by coordinating the planning of all the internal departments, and organizations having an emergency mission responsibility or capability. This includes the distribution of the EOP and education of all involved in their primary duties and responsibilities.

The Mechanical Operations manager reports to the Board on activities, threats, and responses.

Work in the development of hazard mitigation programs to eliminate or reduce potential hazards.

Identify labor and material resources from Commercial Car Club and private vendor sources that would be available in an emergency. Identify resource deficiencies and work with appropriate department to overcome them.

Develop an Emergency Operations Center that incorporates internal procedures and staffing requirements to permit key executives to direct the coordinate emergency response departments and support groups.

Develop and maintain an interoperable communications system that best utilizes pre‐existing community communications systems and interfaces with the emergency plan. Develop and maintain a members’ warning system, education, and training program. Prepare, submit, and justify an annual emergency management budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The incumbent must have formal education and experience in occupations that demonstrate the individual’s ability to manage the entire emergency management and service prevention program.

Such education and experience should include planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, budgeting, grants management, program development and management, and personal management.

The candidate must have public speaking skills, the ability to conduct meetings and presentations, and the capacity to deal with emergencies. Knowledge of and the ability to use computers for communications, research, localization, and word processing is required.
