We are looking for a professional, detail-focused Material Handler to join our warehousing department. This position offers tactical and administrative support to our valued client, SONY®, by supporting their state-of-the-art Digital Media Production Center in Los Angeles. This facility offers the content creation industry a one-stop resource for everything related to Sony's brand of imaging technologies and production workflow solutions. In this role you would be responsible for planning inventory, documenting orders, tracking stock, and providing proper merchandise materials to the technician teams.
The wage range for this position is $21.25 to $24.80 hourly commensurate with experience.
POSITION DUTIES:
- Plan, stock, manage, and reconcile inventories of products and parts
- Resolve inventory variances and perform physical inventory wall-to-wall and cycle counts
- Facilitate materials and parts needed by Technicians to perform repair services
- Pack and ship products
- Assist with system data entry and administrative work when needed
- Follow-up and resolve shipping issues with freight carriers
- Speak to vendors and customers regarding delivery and pickup of products
- Understand workflow and daily production goals
- Assist in keeping work area clean and organized
- Identify and address safety hazards within the work area while participating in safety initiatives
- Refer all job injuries immediately to management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years of inventory management or warehouse fulfillment center experience
- Related experience in shipping and receiving preferred
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or SAP
- Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work flexible shifts/schedules as needed (E.g., occasional weekends, overtime, evenings, etc.)
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to use process improvement tools and techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
- Self-motivated; able to work autonomously and keep on task without direct supervision
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift/pull weight up to 40lbs without assistance
- Occasional - balancing, talking, eye/hand/foot coordination, sitting
- Frequent - talking, sitting, repetitive motions, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling/lifting, grasping
- Constant - hearing, standing, walking
- Must have the ability to climb ladders in compliance with OSHA standards
