HOURS: Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-1:00am
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Picks units and/or parts production by reading a pick document, using a hand held RF Gun, or voice technology. .
- Able to train new forklift operators and give complete forklift certification test.
- Trains and mentors Material Handler I individuals as it relates to pick, pack, ship, and load best practices.
- Confidentially handles usual, unusual or difficult inquiries or situations, or may direct to the appropriate individual as needed; may provide documented input to supervisor for performance reviews, corrective action, performance improvement and candidate selection.
- Unloads incoming trucks and containers and verifies that all items are accounted for, reporting damages or discrepancies; enters inventory items on the computer and forwards paperwork to appropriate individuals.
- Offload, palletize, and inventory inbound shipments.
- Assist in the physical aspect of cycle counts and selected inventory daily and identifies and reports any inventory discrepancies.
- Receives work direction from department leadership, however, incumbent is responsible for prioritizing his/her own work by sales allocation, date needed to fill and logistics of work order.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
III. Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED); post-secondary education preferred.
- Must have at least 3 years of related experience and ability to obtain forklift certification or license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions and follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations such as to adding, subtracting, and dividing using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of and skill using Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
- Ability to use scanners for counting and inventory tracking and control.
- Knowledge of the standard methods used to pack and unpack materials and supplies from trucks, containers and racking/shelving.
- Ability to operate manual and powered material handling equipment such as electric and gas forklifts, pallet jacks, and high lifts.
- Ability to listen and be aware of production floor activity to support a safe and hazard free working environment.
- Ability to be objective and flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments and other interactions that may impact pre-established courses of action for completing projects and assignments.
- Ability to work extended hours and/or varying shifts as requested in order to maintain adequate coverage during hours of operation.
- Knowledge of Lean and Kaizan methods and practices and standard production safety protocol is beneficial..
