Marketing/Proposal Coordinator

Huitt-Zollars’ Albuquerque, New Mexico office has a great full-time opportunity for a Marketing/Proposal Coordinator. This role works with multi-disciplinary design teams in the completion of studies, development of plans and specifications for a broad range of projects.  HZ is a leading Architectural and Engineering firm providing innovative planning, engineering, architectural design, construction and program management, and design-build project delivery to our clients in the public and private sector. EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:    

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field; experience in marketing in the architecture/engineering field preferred; federal market knowledge, including SF330 experience preferred; understanding of basic technical aspects of the A/E industry and previous experience managing proposals preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as are PC literacy and database management experience.  Must have exceptional organizational skills, be able to work well with others, and work well under pressure.  Position requires an eye for graphics and composition, as well as initiative and the ability to create and implement concepts.

JOB SUMMARY:  Produce and coordinate production of company’s business development materials, including qualification submittals, proposals, and presentations for clients; cooperate in timely maintenance of systems for supporting business development efforts, including project data, biographical information and experience of key personnel, and photography; provide assistance to Managers and Principals in business development initiatives.

Also assist in development of consistent and on-going corporate communications that support awareness of  firm and practice initiatives, including in-house/external brochures and other collateral, presentations, promotional materials, infographics, flyers, and company news and announcements; draft engaging branded content for firm’s social media platforms and monitor trending topics and industry related news; assist with website maintenance and content development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supports business development leaders to win new work through quality pursuit, SOQ, proposal strategies, and win themes; supports the Go/No-Go process.
2. Manages the comprehensive proposal and qualifications submittals process from kickoff to submission.
3. Works in a team atmosphere to develop proposal strategy and facilitate the proposal process. Responsibilities include writing copy, developing graphics, and ensuring delivery of final product.
4. Develop and edit proposal content and translate technical information to diverse audiences
5. Maintains the database (resumes, project information, graphics, boilerplate library).
6. Partners with communications/marketing team members to develop content for communication channels, including website, social media, and intranet that ensures consistent, integrated brand perception and user-experience.
7. Manages design award submittals and processes with VP, Marketing and Business Development.

 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Skills, Attributes, and Abilities:

• 3 years experience
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent writing, editing, and graphic design skills
• Solid understanding of the basics of good design, especially about typography, color, and composition
• Proficient software skills, including experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, and Premiere Pro) and Microsoft Office suite (primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to contribute to develop and implement winning proposal/presentation strategies
• Knowledge of Shipley best practices a plus
• Experience with Deltek CRM system a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to team with varying personalities internally, as well as external vendors and clients
• Must be detail oriented, accurate in work, organized, capable of prioritizing workload to complete multiple tasks on time, and able to gracefully manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work with a wide spectrum of personalities
• Passion for continuous improvement, both personally and professionally
• Interest in architecture and engineering design
