Where is this opportunity located? 

Position has the flexibility to work from a U.S.-based home office and/or at the Brookings, SD or Sioux Falls, SD Daktronics campuses. This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the U.S.

• Develop content for various marketing mediums including presentations, blogs, flyers, brochures, advertisements. 
• Interview customers for feature stories in our publications. 
• Collaborate with marketing staff for proper messaging and branding. 
• Communicate with colleagues and managers on work progress.  
• Provide insight as a marketing team member as to how we can align our efforts with industry trends.

Pay and perks: 

The typical South Dakota hiring pay for this position is $14.25 to $15.50. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education/experiences and location. 

 

Students with GPA of 3.5 and above are eligible for a $500 bonus (Academic Excellence Reward) each semester completed while employed. 

 

This position will be eligible for company benefits including, employee discount program, employee assistance program, community donation program, unpaid time off, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan, leaves, disability, and accommodations.

Qualifications

Academic Requirements: 

• Preferred applicants will be a student registered in at least 12 credits and currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program with a focus on Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, or English. 
• The preferred candidate will be in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of school. 
• Only strong academic performers will be considered. Must maintain an acceptable GPA, with preference to 3.0 GPA or greater. 
• Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered.

Preferred Experiences: 

• Experience with Adobe programs, specifically Photoshop and InDesign.

Other Requirements: 

• Applicants should be available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer. 
• Strong collaborator with a positive attitude. 
• Proficient user of general Microsoft applications.  
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.  
• Strong oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, self-motivator. 
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
