  • Content Management: Update and create documents, flyers, and leaflets that reflect the vibrant student life at Einstein.
  • Campaign Tracking: Implement tracking systems to monitor the success of marketing campaigns and online activities.
  • Competitor Analysis: Stay updated on medical college and market trends to refine our strategies.
  • Innovative Campaigns: Design and present innovative social media campaigns to engage students.
  • Social Media Monitoring: Keep a pulse on trending news, ideas, and feedback on our social media platforms.
  • Email Campaigns: Contribute to the creation of email campaigns and newsletter content that resonates with students.
  • Social Media Execution: Execute a social media plan and create content that sparks student engagement.
  • Data Collection: Assist in collecting data for marketing campaign reporting to refine our strategies.
  • Content Strategy: Prepare and execute content strategies for blog posts that highlight student experiences.
  • Event Support: Collaborate on planning and hosting in-person and virtual events that connect students.
  • Content Development: Develop materials such as manuals, summaries, and outlines that aid in student engagement.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Provide support for various ad hoc projects as needed to enrich student life.

List of Responsibilities:

In this multifaceted role, the Marketing Communications Strategist will:

  • Collaborate Closely with Graphic Arts and Internal Communications:
    Work hand in hand with the graphic arts and internal communications departments to create promotional materials for OSA-sponsored events. This includes designing printed promotions, maintaining the OSA website, updating social media platforms, crafting eye-catching flyers, posters, banners, invitations, programs, awards, certificates, and effectively utilizing bulletin boards, PR campaigns, flat screens, calendars, yearbooks, ESAs, and email campaigns to engage our audience.
  • Manage Einstein Campus Online Store: Take charge of managing the Einstein campus online store, overseeing inventory, preparing financial reports, ensuring efficient distribution, and handling receivables to support a seamless shopping experience for our students.
  • Streamline TouchNet Payment Systems: Update the TouchNet payment systems for all events that require payments, ensuring a user-friendly and efficient payment process for participants.
  • Integrate and Maintain OSA Calendar: Maintain oversight of the integrated calendar for OSA, meticulously managing all OSA postings and approving student submissions to ensure a well-organized schedule.
  • Coordinate Yearbook Production: Coordinate all aspects of yearbook production, collaborating closely with the printer, student committee, parents, and various departments to produce a memorable and cherished publication.
  • Enhance Student Life Website: Manage and continually enhance the Student Life website, including CMS and HTTMS web design. Additionally, assist OSA with WellMed, OME, and CAP sites to ensure comprehensive online support.
  • Gather Insights with Surveys: Create surveys using Survey Monkey as requested, gathering valuable insights from the student community to inform future initiatives and enhancements.
  • Maintain Consistent Communication: Regularly engage with graphic arts and web interactive media teams to ensure consistent and effective communication strategies that resonate with our audience.
  • Liaison for Student Life: Serve as the liaison between Student Life and student interest groups, clubs, and SGB, fostering collaboration and facilitating effective programming to enrich the student experience.
  • Lead the Social Committee: Represent the OSA as part of the Social Committee, taking the lead in meetings and collaborating with students on programming, décor, advertising, TouchNet, and related activities, creating vibrant and engaging social events.

Specific to Commencement:
  • Database Management: Oversee the commencement database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for M.D, MSTP, and Ph.D. students. Manage critical details such as family hooders, special needs requests, stage children, and commencement tickets, seating, dressing, appreciation diplomas, and celebratory and milestone events.
  • Collaborate with Graphic Arts: Partner with the graphic arts department to coordinate the design and production of all printed items and signage required for commencement participants. This includes the commencement program, banners, certificates, and signage for the venue.
  • Content Creation: Develop compelling content, including articles, interviews, and student profiles, highlighting the achievements and journeys of graduating students. Share these stories on the official website and through social media channels.
  • Invitation Campaign: Launch a formal invitation campaign, sending personalized commencement invitations to students, faculty, staff, and guests. Include clear instructions and details about the event.
  • Social Media Promotion: Utilize social media platforms to promote the commencement ceremony. Share teaser videos, countdowns, and highlights of graduating students' accomplishments.
  • Virtual Campus Tour: Offer a virtual campus tour for attendees and families, showcasing significant locations related to medical education and commencement traditions.
  • Live Updates: Provide real-time updates on the official website and social media platforms, sharing behind-the-scenes preparations, and building excitement for the ceremony.
  • Social Media Engagement: Encourage attendees to use a unique commencement hashtag for sharing their experiences, photos, and messages of congratulations.
  • Success Stories: Share success stories of graduates who have achieved remarkable milestones in their medical careers, showcasing the impact of an education at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from graduates and attendees to assess the commencement experience and identify areas for improvement in future ceremonies.

Specific to Orientation:
  • Orientation Committee Bios and Pictures: Interface with Orientation Mentors to collect bios and pictures for the Orientation Committee. Highlight the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the committee members on the orientation website and promotional materials.
  • Document Management: Import liability forms, Direct Deposit forms, and HIPAA forms for electronic submission by students. Streamline the documentation process, making it accessible and user-friendly.
  • "Faces of Einstein" Fair: Track vital information for the "Faces of Einstein" fair, including participant details, AV/IT requirements, and setup logistics. Ensure that the fair showcases the diversity of our student body and the vibrant Einstein community.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including Library, Benefits, Occupational Health, Security, and Housing, to ensure timely updates on essential documents and resources. Provide students with access to crucial information.
  • Student Life Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Student Life team for event planning, engaging with students, speakers, faculty, administration, VIPs, Deans, Ph.D., MSTP, and alumni offices. Collaborate with relevant service departments such as audiovisual and IT to deliver top-notch professional programming for the campus.
  • Real-Time Updates: Provide real-time updates and information to new MD students through the orientation website and social media channels. Keep students informed about the schedule, resources, and opportunities available during orientation.
  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from new MD students regarding their orientation experience. Analyze the feedback to identify areas for improvement and enhancement in future orientations.
  • Continuous Engagement: Maintain engagement with new MD students, providing resources and support as they transition into their medical school journey. Share success stories and milestones of MD students to inspire and motivate newcomers.

Specific to Match Day:
  • Identify Key Messages: Define the core messages and themes for Match Day, emphasizing the significance of the event in students' medical careers.
  • Content Creation: Develop engaging content, including social media posts, videos, and blog articles, highlighting the journey of medical students leading up to Match Day.
  • Social Media Teasers: Launch teaser campaigns on social media platforms to build excitement and anticipation among the student body.
  • Website Updates: Ensure the official website features up-to-date information on Match Day, including schedules, FAQs, and student profiles.
  • Email Campaign: Send out personalized invitations and reminders to students, faculty, and staff about the upcoming Match Day event.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements for Hire:
  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Marketing Expertise: Strong background in marketing, communications, or a related field with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience. Experience in higher education marketing is preferred.
  • Digital Proficiency: Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
  • Project Management Skills: Basic project management skills to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Preferred or Optimal Background:
  • Master's Degree: A master's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred and can be highly advantageous for this role, especially in competitive job markets.
  • Higher Education Experience: Extensive experience in marketing and communications within higher education settings, with a focus on student engagement and student life.
  • Higher Education Knowledge: Familiarity with the higher education landscape, including the unique challenges and opportunities in student engagement and student life.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking abilities, with a track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies to achieve organizational goals.

In addition, candidates must be able to use or quickly learn PC and AC, as well as various office technologies, including but not limited to Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), electronic media, calendars (iCal), Outlook, Palm, Iphoto, Isync, Photo Shop, Einstein Purchasing System, Google Docs, etc. They should also possess a high degree of familiarity with college organization and departmental policies, procedures, and practices. The ability to exercise independent judgment when responding to inquiries and perform duties independently is essential, along with excellent verbal and writing skills.
