Manufacturing Technician
Summary

The Manufacturing Technician works closely with the Manufacturing Team, the Maintenance Team, Engineers, and the Quality Team to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues and to develop and carryout improvement activities with a focus on equipment and processes. The Manufacturing Technician will also operate equipment to produce products and services as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assembly and Integration
- Perform assembly and integration tasks following standardized work and meeting schedule
- Visually inspects and tests machinery for proper operation.
- Maintain and repair area manufacturing equipment
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance activities and documentation.
- Request updates to spare parts inventory system and spare parts ordering.
- Team involvement and interaction to improve equipment functionality, and improved efficiencies.
- Train production team on new or modified processes or equipment
- Assist production team with implementation of new or modified processes or equipment
Composite Work
- Perform composite fabrication, and modification using hand tools to produce aircraft products.
- Works with composites using pre-preg doing wet lay-ups.
- Works with resins and carbon fibers.
- Runs the composite winder and ensures product specifications are met.
- Performs preventive maintenance on composite winder to ensure optimal performance.
- Assists in creation and maintenance of standardized work instructions.
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts.
- Sands and grinds composite materials.
- Assists with testing of composites products
- Uses manufacturing planning, written standardized work instructions, schematics, blueprints and other applicable technical data to repair, fabricate and modify composite structures.
- Participates in 6S efforts to Maintain a clean, safe and healthy work area.
- Work closely with Engineering / Quality Engineering
- Assist with design and implementation of systems to ensure product reliability and quality
- Assist with validation of new or modified processes or equipment
- Assist with documentation of modified or existing processes or equipment
- Assist with ECO’s
Work Closely with Maintenance
- Assist maintenance with resolving equipment problems
- Suggest and assist with implementation of long-term equipment solutions
- Suggest spare parts and develop preventative maintenance plans for new and existing equipment
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

- Ability to multi-task, juggle several workloads, and think and act quickly “on your feet.”
- US Person as defined in 22 CFR Part 120.15 (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty) since work includes ITAR controlled technical data
Preferred Skills and Education
- The Manufacturing Technician will work to support the organization and under the direction of the Lead Technician and must be capable of performing in a responsible manner the techniques and tasks that are assigned.
- A minimum of 2 years previous experience with similar responsibilities along with a two-year technical degree is preferred.
- High Attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics is necessary.
- Good leadership, communication, and coaching skills are necessary.
- The incumbent must be goal oriented with high degree of enthusiasm and eagerness work with the Vaya Space team to win, no matter what it takes.
This job requires a minimum of high school education or general education degree (GED) and 3 to 5 years work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
