About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer I role is an entry level role and is geared for someone who is technically savvy. The candidate for this opportunity will have some understanding of the Manufacturing Engineering process and how it relates to the production floor. The Engineer will be focused more on pulling data, analyzing it, ranking issues to provide recommendations to our suppliers to improve performance.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, Mechatronics, Information Systems, or related curriculum is preferred.
Unique Skills Required:
This position required the ability to integrate production, quality, engineering, procurement, and financial data focusing on delivering user friendly, automated reports and software applications for the Supply Chain organization.
Essential Functions:
- Generate user friendly automated reports and software applications for the Supply Chain organization leveraging data from the different Gulfstream information systems (Solumina, SAP, CAS, SmarTeam, COGNOS, SAP Business Objects, etc.).
- Assist in creation of business management metrics/reporting and creating proposals to recommend the best suitable options to manage information gathering and data presentation for Gulfstream and suppliers.
Other Preferred Skills:
- Advanced computer skills in areas such as software development, computer aided design and manufacturing software knowledge (CATIA preferred).
- Experience in .Net Framework, Visual Studio 2012+, Transact SQL, PL/SQL, VB.Net, VBA, Visual Basic.
- Strong knowledge of Database Development and Object-Oriented Programming.
- Perform technical studies and conduct analysis of operations (existing or proposed). Develop plans and recommendations for equipment and tooling needed and correct methods of manufacturing (including sequence of operations and detailed methodology of complex assemblies and installations as well as detail components).
- Assist in make-or-buy proposals and recommend corrective actions for areas of responsibility.
- Author detailed work instructions that optimize manufacturing process efficiency and opportunity for zero defects with functional Operations Engineer.
- Author DRDI/DMT rework instructions to support effective corrective actions.
- Author MBOM in SAP/Solumina/Corridor (as applicable) to ensure all parts defined by Engineering are installed during the assembly/installation process.
- Conduct research, investigation, and analysis in connection with assigned planning or other assigned projects, to ensure conformance to requirements.
- Perform productibility studies from engineering drawings.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential; make necessary computer inputs and generate data or reports as needed.
- Incorporate Lean Manufacturing Methodology into existing and future processes.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to manufacturing methods as a team member or leader.
- Support all Safety, Sustainability and Ergonomic Initiatives. .
- Aid in development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plan. .
- Work on special projects. .
- Ensure Quality policies are being practiced; make recommendations and implement procedures to improve quality. .
- Initiate and maintain accurate daily/weekly activity status based on work output, as required. .
- Basic knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.
- Must be knowledgeable about Engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading, and shop math.
- Ability to operate computerized equipment, such as personal computers, CADAM, CATIA, etc. .
- Lean Specialist certification or higher preferred.
