POSITION SUMMARY:
Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the
Catholic Social Teachings by providing leadership and direction to the Overland Park and/or Mission thrift stores by leading thrift store operations, staff and volunteers to achieve program and revenue objectives. Store Managers will work collaboratively to ensure consistent operations between both store locations. EEO
FUNCTIONS:
- The Store Manager is responsible for all store operations to include, but not limited to:
Maintaining/tracking donations
Processing inventory
Pricing
Storage and sales
Staff and volunteer management
All other aspects of operations required to meet program and revenue objectives
- Ensure that each customer receives superior service
- Ensure all staff and volunteers are oriented to CCNEK culture and TurnStyles
- Ensure merchandise quality appropriate to the store clientele; ensure merchandise is restocked each day and is presentable to shoppers; ensure all merchandise is appropriately priced.
- Evaluate and provide guidance regarding customer, volunteer, staff, community partner issues or concerns that may arise.
- Ensure special sales events are conducted at each store location.
- Support the Director, TurnStyles Operation in operational planning and budgeting.
- Ensure the evaluation and development of staff and volunteer performance.
- Effectively manage the conflict, complaint, and resolution process.
- Recruit, hire and develop a high performing team of professionals and volunteers, and ensure all are trained appropriately for their job, to ensure effective, efficient, and high quality merchandising, production, and guest service. Promote a positive work environment.
- Ensure coordination/collaboration with other CCNEK departments and programs. Volunteer in agency programs (outside of TurnStyles) to increase knowledge about all programs/services offered by the agency, which will enhance ability for coordination and collaboration across the agency.
- Work with other members of CCNEK to identify and establish synergies with related programs and services.
- Develop a positive working relationship with other program directors to ensure collaboration and to enhance resources with TurnStyles.
- Support agency policies, goals and objectives by establishing aligned performance goals within TurnStyles. Facilitate appropriate communication sharing identified needs and potential solutions. Promote self-development and professionalism.

writing including the use of social media or other digital technologies - Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as
required - Demonstrate a passion for the mission of CCNEK as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred in business management, or equivalent.
- 2-4 years retail management or thrift store management experience.
- Solid knowledge of retail operations.
- Proficient computer knowledge and experience for monthly financial reports, including payroll processing, basic accounting and cash handling procedures (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be available Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm (store hours 10:00 am to 6:00 pm) in order to complete all work associated with this position, including the timely opening of the store(s) when scheduled and/or the completion of all closing tasks when scheduled to do so.
- Must be able to work extended store hours (i.e., before 10:00 am or after 6:00 pm), if there is occasion to do so.
- Must be available to work in all TurnStyles store locations.
- Must be trained in all areas of store operations to help support other areas of the store as needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license and pass the pre-employment screening process.
- Ability to multi-task and quickly assess situations to jump into different job roles from accepting and picking up donations, process and pricing donations, merchandising, selling items, operating cash register and excellent customer service.
Excels at situational leadership with staff, volunteers, donors and customers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Will be required to lift up to 25 pounds on a repeated basis; able to stand for long periods of time; may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 9 hours in length.
- Must be able to bend, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
