Job Title: Manager, Transportation Salty Snacks
Job Location: Hershey, PA
Pay Band: 2B
The preference for this role is to be local in Hershey/Austin or able to relocate to Hershey/Austin but we are also open to remote for the right candidate.
Summary:
The Manager is responsible for supporting the relationship with the 3PLs contracted to support Salty Snacks transportation and inbound DC network with a budget of +$70M annual spend. This position will be the 3PL liaison, as well as the liaison for Procurement, Mfg. Plants, Mfg. Alliances, and Financial Services. The position will leverage relationships with key internal and external supply chain partners to implement recommendations to optimize the network, minimize costs, and improve productivity. The Manager, Transportation will work with a counterpart to leverage Best Demonstrated Practices to support the day to day business for North America. They will also work with their counterpart and the Logistics Capabilities team to innovate, develop, and implement change to the Hershey Salty Snack transportation network. The split focus:
- Support the onboarding of the new transportation management system.
- Support Integration of the Salty Network
- Participate in cross-Functional Project Initiatives with co-manufacturing and warehousing.
- Long-term and Daily Logistics execution securing 3PL Compliance and Performance to agreed upon KPI’s.
- Track and identify CI opportuniteis
The position will require minimal (10-20%) domestic travel.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Hold 3PL accountable for meeting the plan and KPI’s:
- Proactively manage Vendor Relationships with 3PL, Inbound/Outbound Carriers, and Railroads.
- Hold 3PL accountable for technology advancement and continuous process improvement
- Improve Inbound order efficiencies with Procurment/Transportation Planning.
- Track CI commitments
- Provide leadership and project management to conduct, analyze and implement new Process, Technology, and Capabilities for the Salty Network. This includes implementation of the transportation management system as well as the integration of the Salty Network.
- Support preparationof Annual Plans, Outlooks and Strategic Plan Development for transportation
- Input to Salty Snacks Budget Planning
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
- Experience with Supply Chain operations including 3PL transportation – breadth of knowledge in other Logistics functions.
- Financial and Business mindset
- Strong influencing and collaboration skills
- Proven leadership and coaching skills
- Proficiency with TMS systems
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Access, Word and Power Point a plus
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Engineering or other operations function with two years of management, leadership or relationship management experience.
