Salary Range: $ 121,300 - $ 242,600 

Incentive: PIP 20%

Job Summary

The Manager Technical Support is responsible for the daily management of the Compliance Technical Support (CTS) Team, in providing engineering services and operational support to Asset Management, Electric Operations and Projects and Construction. The manager will manage two groups of Subject Matter Experts that are responsible for maintaining PSE&G compliance with  NERC FAC-008 Transmission Facility Ratings; and PRC-005-Protection System Maintenance documentation requirements and verifying the accuracy of CIP-010 baseline and cyber-vulnerability assessment documentation.

 

Job Responsibilities

•    Develop, implement and improve standards and procedures for FAC-008 Facilities Ratings
•    Develop, implement and improve standards and procedures for PRC-005 Protection System Maintenance
•    Ensure NERC CIP baseline information is correct for relay protection
•    Ensure all documentation is maintained in Audit Ready Condition
•    Support NERC Central group for all required NERC and/or Reliability First compliance issues including NERC Alerts
•    Interfacing with Distribution Planning, Electric Maintenance, ESOC and PJM to support development, implementation and verification of PSE&G’s annual NERC PRC-006 Under Frequency Load Shedding Program
•    Provide direct project support as required for the above
•    Resolve complex problems and the root cause analysis 
•    Develop and maintain subject matter expertise level of competency in the area of NERC Compliance 
•    Provide NERC Compliance procedure related oversight toward compliance to applicable codes and regulations
•    Develop and deliver non-routine technical training
•    Represent the Company position on standards and procedures to industry, regulatory agencies, on technical and standards committees and in matters of litigation for NERC Compliance
•    Provide direction and leadership for technical group including planning workforce and skill requirements and developing group strategies and goals.
•    Manage internal interfaces and enhance group effectiveness by resolving disputes and removing roadblocks
 

Job Specific Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
•    10 years’ experience working in energy industry
•    Previous management/supervisory experience with proven leadership qualities
•    Fundamental understanding of Transmission Facility Ratings and Transmission Protection Systems
•    Understanding of FERC, NERC/RF reliability standards
•    Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
•    Strong business, compliance and strategic focus
•    Planning, organizational, and project management skills 
•    Energetic and focused on seeking successful outcomes
•    Ability to interact with people at all levels both internally and externally
•    Must possess and maintain a valid US Driver’s License
•    Must possess and use strong oral and written communication skills
•    Must possess demonstrated leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus

Desired
•    Master’s Degree in a related discipline
•    Professional Engineer (PE) License
•    Six Sigma Belt Progression
•    Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
