What you will do as the Manager, Quality Control:
The Manager, Quality Control is a key member of our leadership team and is the key player in ensuring Controls Southeast Inc/AMETEK product quality standards are achieved. The Manager, Quality Control will manage the daily operation of the Quality Control team performing various NDE/NDT and other related testing on our engineered to order products. Additionally, the Manager, Quality Control has strategic input to the organization and will identify and lead organization-wide initiatives that improve quality, delivery, and company culture. This is a hands-on position that takes someone who can roll up their sleeves and solve critical issues in a timely manner while balancing long term improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities of the Manager, Quality Control
  • Partner with CSI Quality Assurance team to ensure Company and product quality standards are industry-leading, continuously measured, actively applied, and continually improved, and reset to more challenging goals; Track and report quality metrics and initiatives.
  • As the key Quality Control Leader for the Business Unit, consult and support, potentially establish and maintain Quality Control programs at our other Ametek-operated manufacturing sites, as needed.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team in accordance with company career path. Solicit feedback, drive positive culture and positive employee experience.
  • Manage and oversee the entire audit process including scheduling audits, pre-inspection meetings, and related events.
  • Evaluate business risk related to quality, present issues and propose solutions, and implement mitigations.
  • Develop and maintain root cause and countermeasure process such as 5 whys.
  • Drive the execution of Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the organization by collaboration & influencing cross-functional leaders.
  • Coordinate company and individual training development focused on continuous learning as related to Quality.

Requirements of the Manager, Quality Control
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, Quality, Manufacturing, or other engineering, business, management, or a related field.
  • 5 -7 years' experience as Quality Engineer, Quality Supervisor, or Quality Manager in a manufacturing/Industrial environment required; 3 -4 years of team leadership required.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies, Engineering drawing standards, Metal fabrication methods include welding, machining, and forming operations, Non-destructive examination methods including visual examination (VT), dye penetrant testing (PT), magnetic particle testing (MT), ultrasonic testing (UT), x-ray (RT), and pressure testing.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and evaluating effective preventive/corrective action plans.
  • Leader with the ability to empower teams to navigate in a changing environment and lead change management at all levels.
  • Client-centric business leader, dedicated to meeting and exceeding the expectations of internal and external clients.
  • Strong Computer and systems competencies - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, ERP, Navision, Paperless Shop.
  • ISO Internal Auditing, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
    • Working knowledge of applicable standards and techniques Preferred: ASME Power Piping Code (B31.1), Process Piping Code (B31.3), and the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Section VIII, Division 1), National Board Inspection Code (NBIC).
  • Strong Computer and systems competencies - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, ERP, Navision, Paperless Shop.
