Job Description:

Thisposition is responsible for performing afull range of mammographic exams in a safe and prudent manner for the specificpurpose of producing the highest quality diagnostic exam and environment forthe customer.


SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Participates with Radiologist and/or physician by contributing technical and professional knowledge.
  2. Reviews pathology, surgical and delivery reports, as appropriate, to follow patients progress and provide a means of reviewing the accuracy of the diagnostic exam.
  3. Must be able to operate and manipulate diagnostic equipment, computers (Daylog), peripheral equipment, and input data.

4. Maintains files, logs, patient charts,researches information, and schedules appointments.

5. Performslow dose x-ray mammography procedures.

  1. Critiques quality of completed study and evaluate if additional images are needed.
  2. Obtains and documents significant history from patient. Handles confidential information.

8. Providesproper radiation protection for patient, other employees, and self inaccordance with established safety standards.

  1. Utilizes proper sterile technique.
  2. Patient handling: Transports, transfers, and positions patients in a manner that is safe for the patient. Confirms that patient and exam preparations are appropriate. Evaluates patients mental and physical condition in order to avoid hazardous situations and does not leave alone, if their safety is questioned. Monitors patient needs.
  3. Performs necessary paperwork and archiving.
  4. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  5. Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to: security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics.
  6. Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures as well as labor agreements.
  7. Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organizations values.
  8. Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization.
  9. Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Equivalentto standard as described under WAC 246-926-110 RCW 18.84 from the State ofWashington Department of Health.

2. Registered- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or registry eligible.

3. Certificationin mammography.

4. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP)level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.
