Job Description
Works with the Facilities Director and assists the Operation Teams in day to day proactive and preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure a first class building and lower down times on the equipment and fixtures. Regular coaching/training of Operation Teams to ensure cost savings. Works with local vendors to verify services.
Responsibilities- Supports the Facilities Objectives, including: “If you are not serving the guest, serve someone who is.”
- Perform regular site surveys and assess needs of the Restaurant proactively.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance services semiannual on HVAC and Refrigeration and bi-monthly Preventative Maintenance on the tortilla machine in assigned area. Maintain tracking report of PM services handled by Vendors and inhouse.
- Assist Operations with reviewing and quick closing of all Restaurant work orders to include following up with vendors to ensure timely completion of critical and priority work orders.
- Handles on call on an every three (3) week rotating basis with other Facilities Specialists.
- Work with the Vendors to resolve service and billing issues in assigned area.
- Coaching and working with the Managers and HOH Teams to lower unnecessary R&M spend and proper use and care of their equipment and building.
- Work with Senior Facilities Specialist on special large capital projects as needed.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience working in Handyman or Facilities Role
- High School diploma required
- Basic handyman skills such as plumbing, painting, equipment maintenance and other regular repair and maintenance needs of a busy Restaurant.
- Basic Computer Skills
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage time to accomplish objectives within a fast-paced environment
- Motivated self-starter who can work independently or with a team under minimal supervision
- Exceptional customer service skills and “service-minded” attitude
- To perform the duties of this position, must have the ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, reach, and carry, lift, pull, push between 1 – 25 lbs. Ladders used frequently and roof access required.
- Use a computer, with repetitive movement of both hands.
- Must be able to work an 8-hour shift with alternating days and night schedules, with some overtime.
- Must also be available to travel to various locations by airplane or by operating a vehicle if needed.
