Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

With minimum guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair
tasks of a complex scope and nature in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, carpentry, painting, air
conditioning, equipment, production and N/C machinery.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
• Remove, repair or relocate machine parts; install air & water lines; align and adjust machines for production
• operation.
• Diagnose defects and perform repair and preventive maintenance to various types of hydraulic equipment,
• machine tools, building plumbing and related equipment.
• Construct, install, maintain, repair and overhaul test stands, fixtures and related hydraulic equipment.
• Setup and operate arc and acetylene welding equipment.
• Perform high pressure tubing and hose fabrication for hydraulic and pneumatic application and contamination
• control.
• Plan, layout and construct additions, partitions, benches, shipping boxes and other carpentry.
• Assist in planning sequence of operations and methods to be used in overhaul and repair.
• Check and calibrate new or rebuilt equipment after installation.
• Identify and repair numerical controlled machine malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and mechanical operations for proper operation.
• Use precision test equipment.
• May work with computers and computer software to create and operate programs, reports, and spreadsheets.
• As a specialized hazardous material technician, may:
• Coordinate purchase, inventory delivery and pickup of hazardous material and maintain current inventory of onsite
• chemicals.
• Advise and assist in cleanup of chemical spills.
• Coordinate packaging, labeling, storing, and scheduling pickup of hazardous waste for offsite disposal.
• Maintain accurate records of all hazardous waste shipped offsite.
• Initiate compliance inspections.
• Provide technical assistance on hazardous materials compliance and safe practices.
• Perform other related responsibilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Five years related maintenance experience or demonstrated ability to perform described
• responsibilities.
• May require proficiency with pump and valve overhaul procedures, especially aerospace associated equipment.
• Ability to work from blueprints and sketches.
• Possess required tools.
• May require ability to setup and operate carpentry, hand and power tools.
• May require working knowledge of national, state and local electrical codes.
• May require knowledge of general hydraulics technology, i.e. pumps, cylinders, accumulators, filters, & piping;
• tube bending, piping fabrication for hydraulic and pneumatic applications.
• May require knowledge of chemicals and their characteristics.
• May require working knowledge of computer and computer software to operate programs, create reports, and
• spreadsheets.
• May require a Hazardous Material Handling Certificate
• Required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May require forklift operator certification.
• Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with others and be a participative team player.
