Maintenance Technician

MAINTENANCE/CONVEYOR TECHNICIAN

Primary Responsibilities:

• Repair and adjust conveyor systems using hand tools and power tools
• Install belts in machinery, adjust tension rolls, straighten parts, align rollers, andreplace defective parts
• Proactively identify problems before they become breakdowns.
• Possess the ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot an assortment of equipment
• Fill out detailed reports and keep records on services that have been performed
• Explain issues with equipment and repairs to management, when necessary
• Mechanical: Knowledge of bearings, conveyors, sprockets, power transmissions, chains, basic
• pneumatics/hydraulic systems.
• Electrical: Basic knowledge and understanding of series and parallel circuits, motor connections and power sources, ac/dc motors and transformers. Identifies electrical components and their functions.
• Lubrication: Knowledge and purpose of lubrication as well as identifying best types of lubrication for situation.
• Adheres to all safety policies and cooperates with all regulatory, company and department’s safety standards/requirements.
• Identifies and reports all hazards immediately.
• As determined by position or task, adheres to and cooperates with company and department quality standards/requirements.
• Performs all quality checks as required by position and/or equipment and as documented within factory quality system.

Requirements/skills:

• Ability to work flexible hours and work around regular hours for emergency calls
• Ability to work independently without much supervision and as a member of a team
• Ability to effectively manage time
• Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job, which include bending, lifting heavy
• equipment and working in confined spaces
• Working knowledge of conveyor equipment
• Ability to read prints and diagrams a plus
• Fluent in English, Spanish language skills are a plus

Experience:

1+ year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial or related

environment
