Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide lead technical knowledge in the repair of breakdowns and troubleshooting, rescheduling maintenance needs as equipment fails or as production plan changes.
- Determine whether the problem can be solved in-house or outside specialist is required, and make a recommendation to Maintenance Manager.
- Coordinate activities with parts clerks, vendors, or suppliers to obtain quotes for projects and execute installations, services, or repairs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen events, and lean manufacturing.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local Environmental and Safety regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.)
- Prepare technician schedule for 24-hour/7-day operation line coverage and preventative maintenance activities, and recommend overtime allocation as necessary.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to document plant needs for the fiscal year, including the cost value of equipment repair or replacement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical or Chemical Engineering OR a Community College technical degree plus 5 years of shop floor experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Proficient in SAP is helpful
7 years of shop floor experience in a manufacturing environment.
Maintenance/Engineering expertise in hydraulics, mechanics, process, and electrical functions of the equipment.
Computer literate with proficiency in Excel and Word
Leadership and communications skills
Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
