Position Summary:
Supervise maintenance employees and/or maintenance projects in an effort to assure complete maintenance and proper repair of all material handling equipment, building and related equipment, facility grounds and ammonia refrigeration system in a cost efficient and productive manner.

Description of Work:
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible to conduct repairs, handle maintenance projects, and supervise mechanics on projects.
2. Enforce all safety rules as they relate to the Maintenance Department.
3. Monitor inventory control of all maintenance parts.
4. Provide suggestions and report issues and concerns to Facility Maintenance Manager or other appropriate distribution management.
5. Travel to get parts and seek quotes as needed or requested.
6. Perform preventative maintenance as assigned.
7. Responsible to insure all safe operating policies and procedures are in place and performed and to be sure the facility is in compliance with state, federal and AWG rules and regulations.
8. Be on call to handle urgent maintenance issues, such as problems with our refrigeration system.

Qualifications:
Any combination of education, training and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge:
General facility maintenance mechanical skills, PM programs, ammonia refrigeration processes, OSHA regulations, industrial mobile equipment repair skill and knowledge.
Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization and to senior company management. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Experience, Education and Training:
High school diploma, specialized training in ammonia refrigeration systems, vocational training or specialized training in a variety of mechanical areas (ie: electrical, welding, carpentry), and a minimum of 3 years of practical experience.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to drive car.
Working Environment:
Indoors, with adequate cooling, heating, and adequate lighting. Outdoors as needed. Working in warehouse environment wit moderate noise due to industrial equipment and maintenance activities, and varying temperatures based on outside temperatures due to non-airconditioned warehouse and cool temperatures in the perishable areas ranging from -15 degrees to the upper 40's. Will be exposed to ammonia and various mechanical hazards such as working around welding and electricity.
Licensing/Certifications:
Industrial mobile equipment operation and industrial ammonia refrigeration.
