THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Maintenance Specialist is a compassionate, patient individual who can support the individuals we serve with care, consideration, and advocacy. The ideal candidate will help support the individuals and ensures excellent quality of care for all individuals receiving services align with the vision, mission, and values of Broadstep.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure at all times the provision of a safe and therapeutic environment for consumers and staff that inspires and communicates hope, safety, trust and opportunity through both the structural maintenance of each facility.
• Performs general maintenance and janitorial duties consistent with licensing and accreditation guidelines and standards and ensures compliance at all times.
• Maintains full compliance with all documentation, reporting and service provision within all contracts for services within the respective subsidiary.
• Performs all maintenance components of Facilities Management, to include but not limited to:
painting, repair, construction, fire, security equipment, heating and cooling systems, vehicle maintenance and landscaping with the goal of ensuring the premier environment which inspires hope, safety, trust and opportunity, and while being fluent and current with all local, state licensing, federal, and accreditation guidelines and managing the facilities to that standard.
• Participate in the maintenance on-call schedule as assigned.
• Corrective repair - complete all corrective repairs within 72 hours, unless an Emergency situation requires immediate remedy.
• As needed, may be requested to support with transportation maintenance needs when applicable (van breaking down, transportation to place of service, estimate on work being done, etc.)
• Participate in monthly Winter Planning Committee during the winter months.
• Participate in winter snow removal and landscaping activities as assigned.
• Maintains a positive, professional relationship with all employees and external vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Possess a minimum of a high school diploma, or a GED equivalent;
• Relevant trade certification(s) preferred;
• Meet all licensing requirements set forth by the respective state of operation
- Possess a valid, regular (non-probationary) state driver's license
- Have a minimum of two (2) years experience in maintenance or relevant building trades
