The Opportunity
The Jaguar Land Rover Battery Assembly Centre is one of the company's cornerstone projects in delivering its electrification strategy. As a BAC team member, you will be playing a fundamental part in this historic change, as we will supply for the first time, electric battery packs to our vehicle plants.

As part of the Battery Assembly Centre maintenance team, the controls engineer is responsible for day to day problem solving, supporting maintenance technicains, upskilling maintenance technicains to be able them to preform a deeper level of investigation, fault finding etc, developing, updating and implementing control specifications and standards for manufacturing equipment and systems, ensuring integrated IT solutions and machinery safety. This includes mechanical, electrical, programmable logic controller software (PLC's) and robot programming software development.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
To manage the overall planning, co-ordination and delivery of Control systems and standards to ensure production ready equipment interfaces.
Maintain close working relationships with other Manufacturing Engineering process teams, Manufacturing Operations, and IT Departments
Provide technical expertise to team problem solving activities to accurately identify root cause and corrective actions
Maintain the locally held master records for Technical Standards, Project Books and specifications for all Manufacturing systems in line with the departments Bill of Process, global standard operating practices and Jaguar Land Rover quality systems
Maintain interfaces specifications from Shop Floor PLC's/Applications to Manufacturing Execution Systems
Commission and work on machine monitoring/quality systems within Production facilities
Developing new suppliers, cost effectively, into the groups Standards for Equipment Manufacture
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
Previous experience and expertise in the specification, delivery, installation and launch of Controls Systems, preferably in an automotive or powertrain environment
Thorough understanding of machine electrical systems and designs in Manufacturing
Relevant degree or equivalent experience
Rockwell and / or Siemens PLC Experience to programming level
ABB and or Kuka Robotic Experience to programming level
Profinet and ProfiSafe Experience
Desirable:
Understanding of machinery safety legislation and standards
Ethernet IP Networks
Knowledge of IT networks and architectures
Knowlegde of Automated Stores and AGV Systems
