Maintenance Mechanic

Description:

The primary function of the Maintenance Mechanic is to ensure the maintenance and repair of facility equipment including process machinery and building infrastructure. The job will require requisition of repair and maintenance parts, scheduling and implementing maintenance work and repairs. The Maintenance Mechanic must be knowledgeable in operation, maintenance, and repair of CNC and general production machinery and facility equipment.

Essential Functions:

? Machine Maintenance and repair – Scheduling machine clean out and preventative maintenance. Updating the production schedule with maintenance performed. Co

coordinating with outside repair vendors including Star, Maruka and Taiyo. Maintaining and inventorying repair parts. Ensure proper oil levels in machines are maintained. Repairs and corrects machine leaks.

? In charge of floor cleaner and vacuum function and repair

? Performing routine maintenance on Mist Busters to ensure proper performance.

? Ordering supplies ? Process owner for periodic cleaning and refilling of parts cleaning sinks

? Process owner for the chip handling department. (Ensure chips are being kept separate, organized, and labeled. Informs management when chip pick-ups are required. Coordinates chips pick up and drum management)

? Responsible for organizing and labeling waste streams. Informs management when waste pick-ups are required. Performs the work of loading waste.

? Responsible for building maintenance including grounds and lawns, driveways and snow removal, roof and gutters, exterior and overhead doors and windows, crane and crane inspections, forklift operation, maintenance, and training, air compressor service and rotation schedule, septic system, heating and air conditioning, roof fan, plumbing and lighting fixtures, electrical service.

? Assist Environmental, Health and Safety Manager in OSHA Compliance Requirements

? Janitorial services and supplies for office and plant

? Garbage, wood and corrugated trash removal

? Troubleshoot production machines and facility equipment problems.

? Maintain clean and safe working environment ? Suggest process improvements and equipment purchases.

? Interact with other areas in the company to accomplish timely workflow.

? Perform the job with minimal supervision ? Perform other assignments as required by the VP of Manufacturing including assistance to other areas.

? Comply with and promote Company Quality and Safety Policies and Strategic Business Objective

Requirements:

Qualifications: Education/Experience:

-High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum 7 years of experience maintaining and repairing production machines and facility equipment

-Knowledge of maintenance and repair of CNC turning centers with Fanuc Controllers a plus

-Able to read and interpret engineering drawings

-Able to operate a forklift truck

-Must have a complete knowledge of metrology equipment and their uses including micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth micrometers, gauge pins, thread gauges and optical comparators

-Understanding of mechanical systems and electrical circuits

- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications Language Skills:

-Fluent in English (Good Communication Skills) Mathematical Skills:

-Basic Math Skills (measuring, use of calculator)

Reasoning Ability:

-Ability to carry out detailed, involved written and verbal instructions Physical Demands:

-Must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

-When performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger or handle or feel objects and tools or controls and talk or hear -Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms -Employee is required to monitor workflow of all personnel in the Secondary Area

-Specific vision abilities require close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

-Maintenance Mechanic will work throughout the Company and will be exposed to high pressure gas, heated and moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to vibration

-Noise level is moderate for a manufacturing plant
