Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd Shift ($1.00 Prem.)

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing basic maintenance services on plant equipment. Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; boiler making; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner adhering to company safety policies.
- Repair and maintain all shop equipment.
- Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job such as: manual machine tools, power tools, hand tools, saws, presses, cranes, mist collectors, bag houses, oxy-fuel, and plasma cutting equipment. Maintenance also performed on lifting devices, overhead cranes, coolant system, ultra-filtration system, compressed air system, etc.
- Maintenance of facility buildings and grounds, HVAC systems, sprinkler systems, plumbing and sewer, lighting, gates, fencing, office furniture, etc.
- Assist with the organization of, and performing daily maintenance tasks for, the machine tool coolant and scrap metals process
- Obtain quotes for repair and new parts when necessary
- Working knowledge of shop equipment to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Secondary education preferred
- Certification in maintenance or skilled trade is preferred
