JOB TITLE: Maintenance Attendant
USUAL TIME OF WORK SHIFT: Varies with facility needs. Some full-time positions and some part-time positions
BREAKS: Two 10 minute breaks, and one 1/2 hour lunch

MACHINES AND TOOLS USED: Machines and tools used include, but are not limited to screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, staple guns, drills, saws, sanders, tile cutters, power washers, floor polisher/shampooers, ladders, electrical testers, caulking guns, paints, lifts to change light bulbs, and other machines and tools to maintain the facility
SAFETY CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT: Employee uniforms and personal protective equipment
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
DESCRIPTION OF WORK PLACE/WORKSTATION: The workplace takes place at a variety of locations at a hotel facility. The surfaces at the locations are cement, carpeted, tiled, or have wood flooring. Most of the work locations are both well-lit and temperature controlled. The Maintenance Attendant may be exposed for periods of time to various weather conditions when working in the outdoor areas.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASKS/PURPOSE: The Maintenance Attendant is responsible for maintaining the hotel building and grounds, including but not limited to the parking lot, guestrooms, hallways, lobby, storerooms, laundry rooms and other public spaces.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide the highest quality of service to the customers at all times.
2. Promptly respond to all guest-related concerns, including but not limited to complaints and special requests.
3. Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures.
4. Know how to clean guestrooms to standards.
5. Know how to perform in-depth and routine maintenance, as well as how to properly operate all mechanical unites within the guestroom and public areas.
6. Know how to operate and maintain all laundry equipment.
7. Practice safety standards at all times.
8. Be able to move miscellaneous items weighing up to 75 pounds.
9. Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
10. Perform repairs as needed, such as plunging toilets, tuning televisions or changing light bulbs.
11. Pick up outside trash, clean parking lot and planter areas.
12. Clean and check air conditioner filters.
13. Adhere to proper Lockout/Tagout procedures per OSHA requirements.
14. Maintain the maintenance shop in a clean and organized manner.
Associate must adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company including, but not limited to those contained in the Associate Handbook. Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned, of which the associate is capable.
Requirements
Must have hotel or building maintenance experience.
The ability to safely operate hand and power tools, as well as cleaning equipment.
Sound knowledge of painting, basic plumbing, carpentr, electric and HVAC.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary Description
$18.00 - $21.00/hour depending on experience
