MDA Precision LLC is a family-owned CNC machine builder located in Morgan Hill and we are seeking an organized, enthusiastic individual to join our team. Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Machine Tool Builder to join our team. The CNC Machine Tool Builder will be responsible for assembling, installing, and testing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machine Tools. The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assemble CNC Machine Tools: Construct CNC Machine Tools according to engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions.
  2. Install Components: Install mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components onto CNC Machine Tools with precision and accuracy.
  3. Perform Wiring and Cabling: Wire electrical components including motors, sensors, switches, and controllers according to wiring diagrams and schematics.
  4. Test and Troubleshoot: Conduct testing and troubleshooting procedures to ensure proper functionality and performance of CNC Machine Tools.
  5. Calibration and Adjustment: Calibrate and adjust CNC Machine Tools to ensure optimal accuracy, alignment, and performance.
  6. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, test results, modifications, and adjustments made during the build process.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to optimize designs, resolve issues, and improve manufacturing processes.
  8. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality, efficiency, and reliability of CNC Machine Tool assembly processes.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Proven experience (5 years +) in assembling and building CNC Machine Tools or similar mechanical assemblies.
  2. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents. Familiarity with CNC systems, motors, drives, and control systems is highly desirable.
  3. Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
  4. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and precision to ensure accurate assembly and alignment of components.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and assembly issues.
  6. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with team members, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  7. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or certification in mechanical engineering, machining, or related field is preferred.
  8. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions and environments.
  9. Safety Consciousness: Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
