Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for operation of CNC mills and lathes in order to produce component parts that require close tolerances Machine operation requires the ability to make machine offset adjustments and quality inspections to ensure part quality. Position is also be responsible for performing secondary operations such as deburring, washing and packing of parts. Adherence to safety, housekeeping and quality standards as they relate to the production and the company's objective is required. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining production goals through linearity / productivity targets and cost containment by eliminating waste.
Responsibilities
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Salary is $23.92 /hr
- Operates CNC machine, makes tool wear offsets/adjustments and related tasks.
- Performs gauging and visual inspection of parts and washes and prepare for shipment. May also perform secondary operations such as assembly or deburring.
- Includes part inspection using the CMM, contour reader, etc.
- Performs preventative maintenance activities on the machines including lubricating and maintaining coolant / oil levels.
- Completes and maintains relevant paperwork.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Proven ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures
- Proven ability to understand standard units of measure and metric system
- Proven ability to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices
- Proven ability to understand and operate complex machines such as optical comparator, profilometer, coordinate measuring machines, calipers, contor reader, micrometer, and others as needed
- Demonstrate general knowledge of lockout/ tag-out procedures
- Proven ability to operate a pallet jack
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to wear safety glasses ANSI Z87 approved, steel toe shoes and other PPE as required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate positive attitude and willingness to follow directions.

Education and Experience Required:
- High School diploma
- Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Associates Degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field
- Operation of CNC equipment (Lathe, Mill, Grinder)
