TITLE: Machine Operator
DEPARTMENT: Exhaust
REPORTS TO: Exhaust Supervisor
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
Set up machines to start production
Control and adjust machine settings
Feed raw material or parts into semi-automated machines
Changes tools and inserts
Detect unusual occurrences during machining cycles
Perform quality checks and make necessary tool adjustments
Switch programs and subroutines for parts’ changeovers
Perform restarts
Train other operators in the cell
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working as a machine operator
Knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools
Understanding of production procedures
Attention to detail
Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Well organized and self-directed
Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
Proficient in using gauges and tools for measurement
Have good mechanical ability
Lift up to 50 lbs repetitively throughout the day
Minimum of 2-3 years experience preferred in related field
PHYSICAL AND PPE REQUIREMENTS:
Employee is regularly required to:
Stand
Use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls
Talk and hear
Walk, stoop, crouch and bend
Reach above shoulders
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes
The work schedule for this opportunity is Monday-Thursday, 3:30 pm to 2:00 am (2nd Shift). Occasional overtime available on Fridays.
