Job Description
Our Logistics team members are specialists whose primary goal is to accurately locate, and document orders and shipping documentation deliver them to shipping and receiving personnel after the “work in process” stage is completed. In addition, the position is responsible for all order movements in our shipping software. To do so, Logistics Specialist must follow current procedures, and make information adjustments while communicating their progress with management. You will support the fragrance manufacturing process alongside Production Staff, Purchasing, sales, Customer Service. You will report to the Logistics manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with logistics team to deliver production orders, and sample briefs.
- Work to maximize individual workspace efficiencies.
- Effectively manage raw material rejections for return, coordinating with Purchasing Department
- Resolve issues with receiving and processing payment to vendors, as necessary.
- Assist managers to identify the root cause/corrective actions for raw material supply and quality concerns by pulling data
- Proactively follow up on outstanding issues with incoming & outgoing orders to ensure full closure.
- Coordinate deliveries from vendors and 3rdparty Logistics company to ensure shipments arrive on time.
- Ensure all dealings with carriers are conducted in compliance to Purchasing Code of Ethics.
- Create meaningful linkages with Teams at Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Planning, and Warehouse.
- Assists with grievances with carriers and 3PL’s.
- Assists in maintaining and/or implementing logistical recordkeeping systems.
- Assists in removal or disposal of surplus materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Business, Economics, Supply Chain or any other relevant discipline is preferred.
- 3 years relevant experience in logistics, procurement, production control and production planning in a manufacturing environment ideally gained in the chemical or Flavor & Fragrance industry.
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language.
- Production/Planning skills: Knowledge of Good manufacturing processes (GMP’s).
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Deadline oriented.
- IT skills - Proficiency in using common PC applications, especially Excel and Outlook
- Excellent ability to work with others.
- Cognitive (Reasoning):
- Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, visual, or schedule form.
