This position is responsible for load management of DC & Vendor orders, carrier selection and load tenders, order management, tracking and tracing, managing delivery appointments and maintaining schedules, maintaining shipment information in internal TMS system, handling and resolving delivery exceptions, analysis of freight data to maximize efficiency, maintaining carrier KPI scorecards, communication with shippers and receivers, and resolving carrier issues in support of DCs and store locations. This position works with Floor & Decor's North American transportation network of providers daily.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- At least 3 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, distribution, or in a strategic, supply chain management capacity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of Transportation/Logistics Industry and Supply Chain principles
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Highly motivated and committed to professional standards and performance.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide logistics support for FND stores and internal corporate departments.
- Analyze inbound and outbound routing efficiencies for all modes (includes Intermodal, Truckload, LTL, Last Mile). Identify opportunities and make recommendations for opportunities to reduce cost or improve service.
- Utilize Manhattan TMS and/or other operational tools to develop transportation plan for all inbound and outbound requirements.
- Manage transportation delays and proactively communicate and resolve transportation exceptions.
- Work with Store Leads & DC personnel to resolve scheduling & delivery issues. Work with Merchandising, Distribution, and Operations to determine and coordinate the flow of goods through the network and help ensure business is aligned to support established plans.
- Monitor & Report carrier performance through score carding of KPI's using data analytic tools. (Power BI/Power App Dashboards, Trimble 10-4 Visibility)
- Provide status updates to the business pertaining to supply chain and business unit performance including a forward view of expected results/opportunities.
- Facilitate Overages, Shortages & Damage claims for all modes of transport.
- Work with freight accounting to ensure proper coding of invoices & charges are correct.
- Administers freight quotations for all modes
- Participates in department's special projects and research.
- Builds relationships with stores and transportation providers.
- Partners with Operations, Inventory, and Merchandising teams to achieve the company's strategic and tactical supply chain goals.
Working Conditions (travel & environment)
- Limited travel required including air and car travel.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary Work - Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
