Collects soiled linen, and delivers linens to patient areas when necessary.
Job Responsibility
- Assists in soiled linen collection, laundering, and distribution; collects soiled linen from chutes and brings to soiled area.
- Checks chutes on a regular basis to prevent soiled linen back-up.
- Inspects linen for stains and tears; routes for rejected linen.
- Delivers adequate supplies of linen to proper floor units when necessary.
- Performs rough dry processing; sets correct drying time.
- Promptly informs the Supervisor of equipment failure.
- Checks for complete dryness of article before removal.
- Operates steamer for taking out wrinkles of wash and wear articles such as lab coats, jackets, and pants.
- Supplies uniform requests on an exchange basis and ensures that employee signature is obtained.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
1-3 years of relevant experience, preferred.
