Job Description Summary
SUMMARY: Drives battery powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift and clamps to lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Must be able to steer, move levers and presses pedals to drive truck forward and backwards and control movement of lifting apparatus.
Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.
Unloads and stacks material device.

Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
Loads and unloads materials onto or off lifting device.

Assures the battery is charged, reports and records any malfunctions on maintenance check list, including fire extinguisher. Changes battery amd records battery changes on assigned Lift Truck at regularly scheduled times.
Keeps record of supplies delivered, maintains work sheets, tier counts, checks manifests, maintains annd keeps other records as required.
Responsible for bringing materials (i.e. coldsuit, gloves, etc.) needed for all job locations every day.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
SAFETY: Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including but not limited to the lockout-tagout procedure, chemical hazards and the hearing conservation program. Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
One to 90 days on the job training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate in English commensurate with the requirements of this position.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
