Job description:
The Trilogy at Rio Vista Lifestyle/Activities Director serves as a working manager for resident programs and community events. They promote recreational, social, cultural, and entertainment values designed to enrich the quality of life and enhance the vibrancy of these 3,008 homes, 55+ Active Adult Lifestyle Community. Responsibilities encompass program development, special events, administration of club events, amenity use, facility programming and scheduling, and overall program promotion and publicity.
Job Responsibilities, Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and implement resident programs, classes, and special community-wide events.
Solicit input and involvement from residents and/or prospects to stimulate participation and awareness of our lifestyle opportunities
Oversee the scheduling and programming of all community amenities, parks, and facilities in keeping with financial goals, member needs, and physical restrictions
Develop budgets for community programs and events
Assist members, clubs, and community organizations in the scheduling of community facilities, to include program and room requirements, coordination with other community departments, and arrangements for the collection of fees
Coordinate the development of promotions for lifestyle programs for the community newsletter, lifestyle public relations, and marketing publications as assigned
Develop and oversee the assignment of facility space, development and promotion of programs, file maintenance, and acts as a general overseer
Coordinate all clubs and club activities
Coordinate all other duties as assigned
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.
Directly supervise associates within the Lifestyle Department.
Education:
A degree in recreation, hospitality, or communication (preferred)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years' experience in coordinating and promoting recreational activities and programs. Prior experience with homeowner association program and/or active adult programs a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies:
Should possess general knowledge of skills defined within content of job description along with the body of information required with respect to computer systems and software, registration processes, policies and procedures, equipment, materials, and products, etc.
Public speaking skills are important to the effectiveness of this position. Highly effective people skills, problem solving abilities and advanced communication skills a plus.
Should possess a high level of energy, social skills, initiative, enthusiasm, and cooperation, and exercise good judgment and discretion.
Will be accountable for individual performance, the work of others, equipment, supplies, product quality and safety.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment:
Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends and holidays as necessary
Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed
Must have use of reliable transportation to run errands and travel to various TRVMA locations
Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities
Must be able to sit, stand, and/or move throughout the day, and transport oneself around the office, amenities, and facilities
Must be able to alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting, to an outdoors setting with variable climate and lighting
Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills
Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances
Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment that may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties
