THE POSITION
As a Licensed Logistics Broker at GEBM/ Freedom Logistics, you will play a vital role in coordinating and arranging transportation and logistics services for our clients. You will be responsible for managing the entire logistics process from start to finish, ensuring that our clients' shipments are delivered on time and at the best possible rates.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the logistics industry, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to think creatively and problem-solve. You will also need to be highly organized and able to work well under pressure. A valid logistics broker license is required for this position. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Below is a list of primary responsibilities a Licensed Logistic Broker would expect in their day to day. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without advance notice. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and arranging transportation and logistics services for clients. You will work closely with clients to understand their unique logistics needs and then use your knowledge of the industry to identify and secure the best carrier and service options for them.
- Negotiating rates and service agreements with carriers. You will be responsible for negotiating competitive rates with carriers and ensuring that all service agreements are in compliance with industry regulations.
- Tracking and monitoring shipments. You will use tracking software and other tools to monitor the progress of shipments and ensure that they are delivered on time. If any issues arise, you will work quickly to resolve them and keep clients informed of any delays or changes.
- Communicating with clients. You will be the primary point of contact for clients and will need to provide clear and timely updates on their shipments. You will also need to be able to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the logistics process.
- Maintaining accurate records and documents. You will be responsible for keeping accurate records and documents related to shipments, including bills of lading, invoices, and other required forms.
- Staying up to date with industry regulations and compliance requirements. The logistics industry is heavily regulated, and you will need to stay up to date with all relevant laws and regulations to ensure that our clients' shipments are compliant.
- Continuously looking for ways to improve logistics processes and reduce costs for clients. You will be expected to continuously look for ways to improve logistics processes and identify opportunities to reduce costs for clients.
- Building and maintaining relationships with carriers and other logistics providers. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with carriers and other logistics providers, which will be crucial to securing the best rates and services for our clients.
- Providing excellent customer service to clients. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to clients and ensuring that their logistics needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
ARE YOU WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
Minimum required qualifications:
- Existing cliental that can be brought over to Freedom Logistics
- Must have a valid logistics broker license
- Must have 2+ years experience in logistics
- Must be proficient with computers, mobile phones, and Microsoft office (outlook, Excel)
- Must have high attention to details and an ability to notice and correct inconsistencies
- Must strive to work in an organized manner while also showcasing prioritization
- Must be able to show legal employment status in United States
THE LOCATION
The Logistics Broker will work from our headquarters office in Tampa, FL.
COMPENSATION AND PAYROLL SCHEDULE
This position is a salary exempt position. GEBM/Freedom operates on a weekly pay schedule and adheres to all local and federal tax policies.
