The Licensed Clinical Therapist- Outreach Programs position is affiliated with the Utah State Hospital but the individual will work primarily in Salt Lake County, including within the Salt Lake County Jail. This is a traveling position. They will provide a variety of professional tasks related to developing, implementing, and conducting specialized individual psychotherapy in a correctional environment with an inmate population. TheLicensed Clinical Therapist - Outreach Programs uses independent judgement and discretion in referring patients to programs and formulating clinical treatment plans for clients.
Principle Duties
In this position, you'll be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing treatment plans for clients
- Conduct individual, family, or group therapy sessions
- Preparing psychological or mental health assessments
- Provide case management to include evaluating the needs of clients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring progress
The Ideal CandidateThe very best person for this position:
- must be licensed as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Mental Health Counselor with the Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL)
- may be filled at either professional level depending on license/experience:
- CSW or ACMHC level license - $29.65 per hour
- LCSW or CMHC level license - $35.12 per hour

Example of Duties
- Refers client/inmate/patient to other available services to meet needs where appropriate.
- Consults with physician and/or other health professionals as needed.
- Develops and implements treatment plans for clients
- Conducts individual, family, or group therapy sessions in accordance with the established treatment plan and provides crisis intervention if necessary.
- Prepares psychological or mental health assessments by obtaining background information such as physical, psychological or mental health, and social factors which contribute to the client's situation, and by studying case histories of clients/residents.
- Provides case management to include evaluating the needs of clients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring progress.

- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Employee will be working in a jail type environment with a mentally ill population, safety and risk issues inherent while working within a psychiatric setting are presumed.
- This is a traveling position
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
- Department of Human Resource Management rules and DHHS policies regarding promotions and transfers apply to current employees.
