The applicant’s key duty is to assist Corporate Counsel with day-to-day projects. The applicant will be responsible for researching, writing, and understanding complex legal issues that will arise. Applicant will also be responsible to ensure and enforce compliance standards. Applicant must be proactive, and be able to intuitively identify issues and gaps and create solutions.

Legal
- Draft or update documentation for review, including: letters, memos (internal/external), notices, and other legal documents as required.
- Review/analyze the sufficiency of documentation as it relates to state law or federal tax law requirements.
- Review/analyze legal documents to determine whether conditions and terms have been met.
- Review ordinances or other regulations to ensure legality of proposed business practices.
- Collect, and send out documents, discovery requests, and other information.
- Review drafts of all documents for consistent use of defined terms and accuracy of
cross-references.
- Prepare, obtain, and organize required contracts, disclosures, and other legal documents.
- Assemble documents for signature and coordinate their execution.
- Obtain items, within the appropriate timeframe such as signed contracts.
- Prepare and file all required governmental filings, such as those for the State,
or other applicable agency. Communicate directly with governing bodies
- Regularly communicate with clients, managers, and others individuals.
- Maintain a tickler and calendar systems for meetings, lease action items, filings, insurance, and other meetings or deadlines.
- Proofread and review documents.
- Do complex research and investigate issues
- Hold and coordinate annual meetings
- Continually compile information, review, document, and update customer files.
- Complete the set up of entities, and monitor entity compliance.
- All other assignments as delegated
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate degree or 2 years experience in the legal field, or equivalent thereof
- The ability to work quickly and accurately
- Legal writing skills
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Extremely detail oriented, able to work quickly and accurately
- Research skills
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office: Excel and Word, Adobe)
- Must have excellent error detection and superb proof reading skills
- Need to have an understanding or knowledge of compliance
- Understand complex standards and regulations and implement information into appropriate reference manuals or documents.
