Leasing Consultant
JOB SUMMARY
The Leasing Consultant assists in leasing activities to maximize income and achieve property occupancy goals.

Resident feedback on quality and timeliness of resident services provided; tenant turnover.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the day-to-day leasing operations of the property.
- Maintain complete and accurate property files and records.
- Give prospective residents tours and discuss community amenities.
- Respond timely to prospective resident telephone calls and internet lead responses.
- Review rental and move-in files for accuracy and input new residents into Yardi.
- Enter daily leasing activity into the leasing system daily.
- Promptly attend to resident comments and/or complaints.
- Prepare move-in paperwork, keys, and remotes for a new resident.
- Inspect make-ready apartments prior to move-in.
- Review all lease files prior to move-in for accuracy and completeness.
- Support the property manager’s efforts to manage all aspects of marketing and leasing for the property.
- Understand the market near the property and any other aspects of the sub-market that could impact the occupancy and/or income of the property.
- Respond timely to prospective resident telephone calls and internet lead responses.
- Correctly complete all lease applications, assist with application verification, and notify the prospective resident of results in a timely manner.
- Responsible for leasing apartments, improving occupancy, and generating traffic.
3. Perform other duties as requested to support property operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel software. Experience in conducting Internet searches and using online calendars and databases.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Resman or other property management software.
- Direct leasing and/or property management experience.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills is a plus.
