Lead Toddler Teacher

Our daycare center seeks a highly skilled and passionate Lead Toddler Teacher to join our team. As a lead teacher, you will provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for toddlers in our care. You will work collaboratively with a team of teachers and support staff to provide high-quality care and education to our littlest learners.

Responsibilities:

• Create a welcoming and nurturing environment for toddlers, including developing and implementing daily routines and activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Foster positive relationships with children and families through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and other activities.
• Implement our research-based curriculum and lesson plans that align with state South Dakota Early Learning Guidelines and reflect best practices in early childhood education.
• Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure smooth and effective program implementation, including working closely with classroom assistants to maintain an appropriate teacher-to-child ratio.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment ensuring all materials and equipment are safe, clean, and appropriate for toddlers.
• Attend professional development and training opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices and current research in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of two years of experience working with toddlers in a childcare or preschool setting
• Knowledge of child development, early childhood education theories, and best practices for toddlers.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain CPR and first aid certification.
