As the Lead Software Engineer on our SPX Options Trading Desk at Gelber, you will have a real impact on the expansion and technology of the desk. You will work side by side with other successful Traders and the Partner and Head of the Desk to improve and direct the technology used by the desk. This role is for someone who flourishes in a fast-paced environment, has a strong work ethic, clear communicator, and has a strong interest in the financial markets. This position will report directly into the Head of the Desk who reports directly into Senior Leadership.
What you'll do:
- Lead and define technology and strategy for the SPX Options Trading Desk
- Responsible for managing projects from conceptualization and requirements gathering to user adoption
- Design and develop user interfaces based off the desk's needs
- Manage, recruit, and mentor other technical individuals on the SPX Options Trading Desk
- Playing a significant role in design, implementation, and maintenance of proprietary trading platform that powers the SPX Options Trading Desk
- Bridging the gap and communication between trading and technology
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience coding in C++ and experience with C#/Python, nice to have
- Experience with working with Vola is not required, but strongly preferred
- Experience working on the frontend and the user experience
- Experience working with Options is preferred, but not required
- Self-motivation, excellent communication, and ability to work with others in a competitive environment
- Ability to take and pass the SIE and Series 57 FINRA exams
