Job Summary of Lead Materials Specialist:


Performs material coordination activities using learned disciplines to adhere to customer requirements, including traceability and documentation standards. Acts at the subject matter expert for materials management and inventory activities with minimal supervision and demonstration of strong reasoning skills. Ability to be a strong role model to strive for consistency and process adherence.


Pay Range: $25.00 - $27.00/hr DOE.

Requirements:

Lead Materials Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all initiatives, including monthly cycle counts and daily transactions, necessary to support Six Sigma Inventory Accuracy
  • Supports supervisor with Time Ticket and Attendance accuracy in ERP system.
  • Coordinates and provides training of all Materials employees, ensuring ample cross training and movement with the team to keep skills fresh.
  • Coordinates day to day task for team ensuring receiving, staging, driving and all other requirements are attended to
  • Collaborates with Production Supervisors, ensuring production needs are met with minimal production disruptions across all departments.


Exhibits mastery of skills outlined under Senior Materials Specialist, including, but not limited to the following:


  • Advanced kitting and staging materials for production according to due date and/or shop load need.
  • Works independently to verify materials, drawings, and documentation.
  • Sorting and distributing incoming jobs to appropriate destinations
  • Receive materials from customer and vendors while maintaining AS9100 requirements.
  • Receiving and restocking parts and tools within set turnaround time.
  • Operating forklift to load/unload materials from trucks and move large materials.
  • Shipping complete orders according to due date/customer need.
  • Performs monthly inventory of raw and finished goods, as well as WIP inventory as necessary.
  • Delivery of finished products and pick up of supplies to/from customers in Puget Sound area using company vehicles and maintaining accurate records on trip sheets, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, etc.



Requirements:


Education And/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED and five-year prior experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior ERP experience.
  • Prior Lead or Supervisor experience preferred.


Language Skills:

  • Can read, analyze, and understand technical drawings and specifications regarding manufacturing.
  • Can respond and effectively present information to common inquiries or complaints.
  • Has effective communication skills and the ability to be a team player.


Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with PC including Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications / standards.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and bend, kneel, and stretch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment. May be required to sit and/or stand for two-hour segments. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus


Work Environment:

An employee in this position will work in a manufacturing setting. There may at times be odors from cleaning solvents and glues used in production. The noise level is considered moderate. Safety equipment will be provided when required for a specific task or job, including glasses, goggles, respirators, aprons, gloves, etc.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must be able to pass a Background check in accordance with Customer Guidelines and Requirements.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have valid Washington State driver’s license
