Lead Front-End Developer

IfThen, a digital media solutions firm based in Atlanta, is looking for a Lead Front-End Developer.

The Lead Developer will focus on the development of HTML5 compliant frontend applications for media, entertainment and marketing clients using a variety of technologies including HTML/CSS/Javascript as part of complex applications powered by a variety of backend technologies, including enterprise-level integrations with CMS’es such as Adobe AEM, Drupal, Wordpress or (to a lesser extent) other content management and templating systems such as Django or Sitecore.

In this role, you will be expected to apply practical knowledge of development and engineering to conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software fixes, enhancements, components, and/or new software systems and applications of moderate to high complexity. You will also be expected to own front-end solution design and development, and drive development of components through your own contributions and in support of other front-end engineers' work. You will be expected to provide technical guidance and act as a point of escalation and technical expert, assisting with architecture, design and development of highly scalable software systems and applications.

Responsibilities

• Define, architect, design and build high-quality software solutions with a focus on the front end.
• Collaborate with team and peers to design complex applications, peer review code, and suggest optimization.
• Advanced development, building content sites using modern CMS and templating systems such as Adobe AEM, Drupal, and WordPress.
• Check-in valuable, clean code on a daily basis that adds new features and capabilities.
• Create reference implementations for the purpose of mentoring and leading more junior staff (when required).
• Balance resources, requirements, and complexity.
• Assist with roadmapping, estimation, and breakdown of software deliverables.
• Evangelize technologies, solutions, and best practices.
• Contribute new ideas to a larger community of high-caliber professionals.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mastery of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, including expert level skills developing robust data-driven applications that leverage Ajax and JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or other similar frameworks.
• Strong command of CSS styling and experience keeping large-scale styling implementations DRY with CSS abstractions like Sass/LESS/CSS Modules.
• Expertise with single-page applications (SPAs) is ideal, along with isomorphic javascript rendering, whether with tools like Nextjs/Nuxtjs or otherwise.
• Consistent and reliable delivery within a highly disciplined agile development methodology and toolset, including git, Jira, Maven, Bamboo/Jenkins, etc.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, used regularly in peer review, code commenting, and documentation.
• Proven ability to work with all members of an extended and diverse project team.
• Must be detail-oriented, self-organized, be committed to quality and be capable of tracking multiple issues simultaneously.
• Very passionate about coding and software.
• Candidate must have mentoring and guidance skills to provide oversight and direction to contractors and internal members of the software development team.
• Ability to handle virtual teams and work with resources in multiple simultaneously.
• Unit testing capabilities as a FE engineer.
• Linux knowledge is a plus.
