Form of work*Description:*The Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT), partnering with the Minnesota Department of Commerce (Commerce), is seeking one (1) full-time database administration resource to maintain Commerce database environments and instances and to assist with critical Commerce projects.Commerce oversees more than 40 industries and depends heavily on software solutions to meet its responsibilities. Having secure, available databases that have the correct data sets for reports and analytics is a critical aspect of these software solutions. The resource under this engagement will maintain databases for Commerce’s software solutions and analytical needs.
The resource will also provide support for modernization projects involving databases, including setting up a data warehouse on AWS. The ideal candidate will be a high-level database administrator who is able to work with minimal oversight and craft database solutions that they can share with State staff and subsequently implement.The databases are a mix of SQL Server, Oracle, and PostGRES. All but one of the databases are housed on Amazon Cloud.
One SQL Server database is hosted locally at MNIT.Work will be performed off-site/remotely.•Maintain SQL Server, Oracle, and PostGRES instances, schemas, and tables located on the Amazon Cloud •Maintain SQL Server instances, schemas, and tables hosted at MNIT•Create basic data models and documentation•Identify unused or duplicate tables for deletion•Implement best practices for SQL Server, Oracle, and PostGRES•Respond to and carry out database work requests•Perform performance tuning and optimization as applicable•Create and maintain ETL (Extraction, Translate, Load) for data submissions •Create data sets for Tableau use•Assist with database aspect for projects including setting up a data warehouse and software rewrites•Create documentation for work completed•Provide knowledge transfer to State staff•Perform other related duties as assigned*Skills:*Database administrator, Sql server, Oracle, Sql, Postgresql, Database management*Top Skills Details:*Database administrator,Sql server,Oracle,Sql,Postgresql*Additional Skills & Qualifications:*•Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)•Experience with data modeling•Experience with advanced analytical design tools•Experience with disaster and recovery planning•Experience with cost benefit analysis•Experience with three tier architecture concepts and configurations*Experience Level:*Senior Level About TEKsystems: We're partners in transformation.
