Job description
- DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Evaluates, directs, plans, and provides treatments for patients with a wide variety of disabilities to help them achieve a maximum level of functional independence. Documents patient care and results of treatment appropriately in the medical record to comply with policies and procedures of the department and regulatory agencies. Provides support to rehab leadership for departmental operations.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
- Experience:
- Minimum of five years clinical experience; two years of employment at FVH Rehab Dept
- Education and Training:
- Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree.
- Ability to comprehend and write the English language.
- License, Certification & Registration:
- MAPT - Current MA license to practice physical therapy.
- CPR certified.
- Other Requirements:
- Must possesses sight/hearing senses or use prostheses that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of the position can be fully met. Ability to use: Rehab equipment including but not limited to: splints, orthoses, prostheses, wheelchairs, ADL equipment and modalities. Must be able to work indoors, and outside, in-patients rooms, therapy gyms, occasionally in a patient's home and in the community. May be exposed to environmental hazards, infectious diseases, chemical agents, sharp objects, fluctuating noise levels, disagreeable odors, frequent interruptions, and agitated and emotionally distraught patients and families. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skillls as well as leadership experience or leadership potential.
