This company is a startup focused on hypersonic aircraft development and revolutionizing air travel.The are collaborating with government organizations such as the US Air Force and NASA to develop a series of unmanned aircraft that mitigate risk and address critical national security issues. These autonomous planes provide vital data and assurance required for the certification, production, operation, and maintenance of safe and comfortable commercial aircraft.
They are looking for a Lead Airframe Structures Engineer to handle the development, design, analysis, testing, and life cycle of a structural system or component for the hypersonic aircraft. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in airframe structural design, analysis, and optimization for aircrafts or spacecrafts.
Requirements
Core responsibilities
- Head the airframe structures design, analysis, and optimization.
- Formulate and assess concepts, materials, and manufacturing methods for airframe structures.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure airframe designs fulfill performance and safety requirements.
- Conduct trade studies to determine optimal material selection and structural configuration based on cost, weight, and performance.
- Develop, execute and analyze structural testing plans to evaluate static, dynamic, and fatigue performance.
- Evaluate test results and provide recommendations for design enhancement
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical assistance during manufacturing and assembly phases.
- Take part in design reviews and offer technical guidance and recommendations.
Required
- B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in airframe structural design, analysis, and optimization for aircrafts or spacecrafts
- Proficient in CAD software, FEA
- Understanding of metallic high strength alloys and manufacturing techniques
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of aerospace materials, structures, and systems
- ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
