Supervise the Laundry Department under the direction of the Facilities Director to provide the organization with clean, sanitary linen.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional training in laundry or institutional management is highly desirable.
EXPERIENCE
Prior supervisory experience and healthcare/commercial laundry experience is required.
SKILLS
Ability to interview, hire, train and complete reports as needed. Knowledge and skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite products. Good communication skills with other departments as well as fellow employees. Ability to work as a team member as well as be a leader.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervise, schedule staff, and develop policies and procedures for the Laundry Department in conjunction with the Facilities Director
- Post new positions, conduct interviews, perform evaluations and participate in disciplinary action.
- Inventory linens on a regular basis to determine the needs for all hospital departments.
- Prepare purchase requests for linen, supplies and equipment.
- Prepare payroll and help in preparing the department annual budget including goals and objectives for the coming year as requested by the Facilities Director.
- Responsible for submitting poundage reports and other necessary reports.
- Adhere to infection control policies.
- Work with vendors (soap, linen) to ensure high quality at a good price.
- Keep abreast of laundry and linen changes in the hospital industry such as Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) and recommend changes.
- Perform working laundry duties with staff and coverage during staff absences.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for attending committee meetings as requested.
- May be requested to do other related duties for which the individual is qualified to perform.
- Works with other departments as needed.
