Primary Objective of Laundry Supervisor Position
To provide clean and attractive linen in accordance with the standards of Bartell Hotels by providing work direction and coordinating the laundry
Responsibilities
- Professionally cleans and presses linen by supervising, and training directing laundry personnel
- Assists in the production and output of linen being processed through the laundry department during peak times or during absence of laundry operators
- Ensures that stained linens are being processed in proper manner and in a timely fashion
- Assists in coordinating linen inventories
- Ensures washers are being supplied with chemicals and there is proper stock of supplies in the laundry
- Operates, maintains, and cleans laundry and equipment according to company standards
- Maintains laundry equipment in proper condition by performing minor repairs as necessary
- Replaces parts as needed
- Write maintenance reports in regard to replacement or repair of machine parts
- Informs supervisor or management of any mechanical failures or supply shortages, so corrective action can be implemented
- Assists with pressings and folding of linen, uniforms, and other necessary articles
- Assists in delivering linen to closets and storage areas
- Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
Other duties may be assigned as needed
Physical Demands & Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. The employee must also be able to go up and down a flight of stairs while carrying 50 pounds. The employee is sometimes exposed to outside weather conditions and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
