Laser Operator - Wayland/1St Shift

Overview

Set-up, adjust and operate CNC, laser with instructions.  Set, align and secure safety devices.  Set and adjust feeds and cycle through operation to ensure proper operation.  Many make minor adjustments to programs as authorized. 

 

This is a 1st shift, alternating work schedule:

           * One week will work 4 days p/week

           * Next week will work 3 days p/week

 

Shift hours are 6am - 6ap

 

 

$1,000 Sign-on Bonus

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Reads job order to determine machine programming requirements
• Sets up machine parameters and power settings
• Calls up part number from computer to program machine
• Puts steel into machine to cut part
• Checks to print using various measuring devices to determine accuracy of part
• Performs beam path alignments as needed
• Performs routine machine maintenance
• Performs simple laser programming
• Troubleshoots problems and adjusts machine as necessary to correct
• Schedules machine maintenance with Maintenance Department

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two to Three years' related work experience and/or computer (TRUMPT, BLM, CNC) training
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to measure equipment such as vernier, micrometer, etc.
• Proficient in computer skills
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
