Job DescriptionIn the Large Format Category team, this position is responsible for delivering short- and mid-term business and financial objectives, as well as executing mid- and long-term business strategies in Large Format Design.
Your primary objectives can be summarized in four areas:
+ Ongoing Business Category management (Route-to-Market mix, Pricing, Promos, Big Deal evaluation, etc) for Large Format Design.
+ Working closely with Supply Chain and Sales Operations teams to manage product mix supply-demand situation both in the Channel, as well as HP-owned. Will require frequent engagement with Sales Operations to allocate and release inventory, as needed. In response to supply-demand issues, you may suggest, research, and/or execute various tactics to resolve (from factory air-shipments to channel-wide promos).
+ Related, this role will actively drive the rollover process when Product Lifecycle needs require it. This means proactively collaborating with Sales and Supply Chain to understand and communicate exactly how much supply of a given platform remains - and exactly when it will be available.
+ Perhaps most importantly, this position is responsible for managing the 13-week cadence of delivering our financial goals (e.g., Profit & Loss Management). Implied is that the person has a deep understanding of Profit & Loss management, and can quickly assess either gaps or opportunities. In alignment with the broader Go-to-Market organization, either executing or managing mitigation and upside plans, as needed.
Specific responsibilities within the above objectives:
+ Managing business performance in the near-term, optimizing: HP Revenue, Gross Margin, Contra, OPEX, Inventory levels (both HP-owned and Channel, where applicable)
+ On a regular basis, presenting to Senior Management: Your recommended Pricing and Promotion decisions, and the expected financial impact (ROI or Business Case), across Hardware
+ Identifying potential risks or upsides to our Hardware unit plans; recommending mitigating actions
+ Tracking and projecting Route To Market mix of Printers on a monthly, quarterly, and annual cadence
+ Channel program management for various resellers; may include some recruitment of non-HP resellers (in conjunction with sales); or optimizing existing program to change partner behavior based on HP strategy
+ Driving the rollover process with key internal stakeholders: Factory, Supply Chain, Marketing, Senior Management team, Category counterparts, Global Business Unit, multiple HP sales teams, etc.
+ Driving the rollover process with key external stakeholders: First-tier distribution, Second-tier resellers, Agencies, etc.
In short, you are the US Subject Matter Expert on Large Format Design Go-to-Market strategy and execution; that expertise spans manufacturing to logistics to distribution to order management to reseller acquisition to end-user fulfillment and applications.
Education
+ Typically 6 to 10 years total experience in Category, Operations, Finance, or
+ related functional area.
+ University or Bachelors degree in Business or Finance; advanced degree or Masters of Business Administration preferred.
Knowledge and Skills Required
+ Ability to identify emerging trends from market and industry data, and make clear and compelling business planning recommendations.
+ Excellent analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills.
+ Extensive knowledge of how to analyze business problems using Excel, statistical analysis and financial modeling.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and influence skills.
+ Excellent project management skills, including leading large, cross-functional initiatives that impact the organization.
+ Strong leadership skills, including team-building, conflict resolution, and management.
+ Large Format Printing industry and operations knowledge is a plus
+ Business planning skills, multidimensional.
+ Financial planning and modelling skills, comfortable to manage high complexity business planning and reporting.
+ Leadership skills and cross functional expertise (sales, supply chain, marketing)
