Responsibilities
- Applies fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
- Performs work that requires practical experience and training.
- Manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of business systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based.
- Optimizes system operation and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning.
- Provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.
- Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment.
- Provides assistance to users in accessing and using business systems.
- Work is performed under supervision.
Qualifications
- Government security clearance required
- High School degree OR 36 months specialized experience, a GED diploma, or completion of an accredited technical training program may be substituted for a High School degree
- 2 years experience that includes 1 year in a specialized area
- IAT Level II
Desired:
- Certifications Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Oracle Solaris System Administrator, Certified Linux Certifications, and Red Hat Certified System Administrator Certification
