Job Role: Junior Network Engineer
Location: Hybrid - percentage of working on site could vary on a week-by-week basis. Anywhere from 0% to 75-80% onsite depending on the work assigned.
Duration: 6+ month contract
Rate- 55/hour on C2C or 1099
Job Description:
The Junior Network Engineer will partner with fellow engineers, service desk staff, and leaders in other businesses units/operational areas to proactively identify and solve problems in operational workflows and procedures in order to add efficiency to the County’s business and IT objectives underneath the ITIL framework.
JOB DUTIES:
- Installation, maintenance and enhancements of a global Cisco wired and wireless network that delivers voice, video and data services on corporate production and guest networks.
- Cisco ISE Experience a Must
- Palo Alto experience. Cisco 9K Wireless. VOIP experience a plus. Ekahau experience.
- Coordinates and implements low to high risk network changes according to ITIL framework, independently to mission critical functional areas while following established designs and configurations already developed.
- Assist with developing standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Establish and document standards and procedures for team review.
- Perform work outside of normal business hours related but not limited to: on-call incident escalation and off-hours maintenance work.
- Working closely with Milwaukee County Security Team to maintain Firewall best practices and recommended policies based on business needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a current resident of the State of Wisconsin.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software, which must include Microsoft Word and Excel is required
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 50 lbs
