It System Integration - Data Architect

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced multi-faceted IT Architect with deep diverse technical experience who can navigate the challenge of pushing the organization to envision forward thinking solutions that transform the company. Utilizing expertise in Business, Systems Integration, and Data Architecture, you will enable strategic, big-picture design thinking for the business and how it operates, while collaborating with business and technical counterparts to drive delivery of systems that clearly align to the company strategy. This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization

Job Duties:

General Architecture Responsibilities

• Research and properly evaluate sources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usability
• Apply sampling techniques to effectively determine and define ideal categories to be questioned
• Compare and analyze provided statistical information to identify patterns, relationships and problems
• Partner with other Architects to ensure consistent translation of enterprise architecture decisions to solution architects, conduct solution design reviews, and arbitrate solution design conflicts across domains
• Develop Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions.
• Work with project teams on functional requirements, resource allocation, development and implementation plans
• Leading group design and architecture sessions for the successful delivery of Integration projects and projects that require an integration component
• Build best practices and implement to mature internal team processes
• Addresses interoperability, business constraints, that could potentially impede implementation
• Work with architectural artifacts supporting the IT solution design
• Authoring documentation for standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, etc.

Business Architecture Responsibilities

• Establishment and maintenance of contacts within business units and information system programs to understand business processes and business drivers, business requirements, solutions strategies, alternatives, etc., being considered and/or implemented.
• Business Architectural leadership in the resolutions of inter-program and inter-project issues.
• Work with Product Owner/Business Analysts to understand functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams to needed to architect, design, develop, test, and release features.
• Interfacing with clients, vendors, and internal users on understanding of the data flow and usage between applications
• Develop and maintain cross-program and cross-project Business Architecture strategies and problem resolution.
• The consultant in business process analysis and design, and service delivery, particularly with respect to the use of information technology, trends, and directions
• Support project coordination to ensure conformance and compliance of projects and programs with Business Architect guidelines.

System Integration Architecture Responsibilities:

• Creates and publishes architecture strategies, statements of direction, standards, and guidelines for applications integration.
• Developing and maintaining integration patterns and reference architectures, and guiding teams on appropriate usage
• Considers cost and commercial implications / consequences of technical decisions
• Responsible for the governance of the integration process across all phases of delivery
• Architect, design and implement small to large scale integration solutions adopting various technologies such as XML, J2EE and Java.
• Build data mapping, provide the means of system integration by considering the target as well as the source.
• Select the systems and capabilities to meet business data requirements, evaluate new techniques for improved functionality.
• Prepare needed documentation and present in required design or architecture review meetings
• Working with Solution and Technical Architects to ensure alignment to the Architecture Principles, Architecture Blueprint, Design Principles and Patterns and technology roadmap
• Developing integration tests to validate solution architecture
• Providing guidance and troubleshooting support for complex production integration incidents

Data Architecture Responsibilities

• Define vision, strategy and principles for data management.
• Defines standards for naming, describing, governing, managing, modeling, cleansing, enriching, transforming, moving, storing, searching and delivering all data within the enterprise.
• Designs databases, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Develops and maintains a formal description of the data and data structures including the data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries and technical metadata.
• Collaborates with Data Engineers on data model, its maintenance and optimization as well as end-to-end data driven integration strategy.
• Participate in developing the future state data architecture standards, guidelines, and principles.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining a formal data structures, data description and data architecture; this can include data models, data definitions (logical, physical, and conceptual), data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, etc. Data architecture comprises of topics such as business semantics, meta data management, meta data work flow management and data modeling.
• Develop design specifications, develop data strategy and high level data architecture documentation, which exemplify the source and destination of database from and to approved data sources.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science and a minimum of 10 ears of prior related experience.
• 5+ years of experience with implementing enterprise level integrations using modern technologies and approaches (REST, Microservices, API Gateways, Service-Oriented Architecture )
• Deep understanding of data architecture, data analysis, reporting, and basic understanding of data science techniques
• Proven experience developing successful SOA and integration solutions in an enterprise environment on industry standard integration suites on multiple projects

• Experience architecting IT solutions that deliver business value
• Ability to work independently with guidance from line manager
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate technology options and apply to complex business problems
• Professional experience with XML, XSD, XSLT, WSDL, HTTP(s), FTP, SOAP, REST,..
• Experience with API Gateways (ex. Apigee, Axway)
• Prior experience leading a team of Application Developers
• Experience with the Agile development methodology and Cloud technology is highly desirable
• Relevant education and certification preferred
• Solid understanding of IT strategy, planning in alignment with business strategies
• Strong architecture governance competency
